This works of course only after you alread did get EPG data.
Either setting a region code
regionset /dev/sr0
(see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs)
or deleting all libdvdcss2 data in ~/.dvdcss
for the respective DVD did help for me.
(I did both, afterwards it worked. Propably you need both, in that order)
